Communications Executive

Position Purpose 

The Communications Executive will support the implementation of Axios’ client, corporate and internal communications initiatives, and serve as an editor for key company presentations and materials. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Working hand in hand with the Communications Manager, the Communications Executive / Copy Editor will:

  • Corporate communications: Implement corporate communications initiatives to raise Axios’ visibility and credibility among stakeholders; develop compelling thought leadership content and marketing materials; manage the Axios website and social platforms; research editorial opportunities and build relationships with key industry media; develop news business presentations 

  • Internal communications: Develop content and execute bi-monthly staff Town Hall meetings and newsletters; maintain on-going and frequent communication with staff across Axios’ network 

  • Project communications: Implement strategic communications plans to support clients’ projects; write and edit access program materials; conduct, analyze and summarize quantitative and qualitative research 

  • Copy editing: Edit and proofread client materials and presentations for word usage, tone, style, format, accuracy, etc.

     

Relationships 

  • Work closely with Communications Manager in Dubai

  • Work with project team leaders as well as the related divisions of Axios 

  • Maintain ongoing and frequent communication with project team leaders including Axios regional and global staff

Educational Background and Experience 

  • Native English speaker and writer

  • Arabic language is a plus

  • BA or MA in communications, journalism, marketing or related field

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in communications/marketing/journalism or related field, with experience in the healthcare field preferred 

  • Experience creating strong, visual PowerPoint presentations

  • Experience working with IT platforms such as Squarespace and MailChimp

  • Design software experience is a plus

Job Circumstances 

  • Possible international travel

  • Flexibility in working hours is essential

  • Executive will report directly to Communications Manager
